HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Mateo Gómez, shown at right, booked a role in the film Salsero in Purgatory, written and directed by Antonio De La Cruz), due to an HOLA referral. The film is currently lensing in New York City.

After its current run at the Midtown International Theater Festival, for which is selling out several performances, the Hudson Fine Arts Foundation/Grace Theatre Workshop's production of Comfort (written and directed by Jung Han Kim), co-starring Lucio Fernández, will have additional performance in August at The Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, located in Manhattan's West Side. Marco Antonio Rodríguez, shown at left, is pleased to announce two developments regarding his play La Luz de un cigarrillo (Ashes of Light). The Teatro Las Máscaras production of the play (which won three Soberano Awards), was presented again in July as part of the eighth annual Dominican Republic Theater Festival at Santo Domingo (FITE). The production was also directed by Germana Santana and starred Aleja Johnson, Brian Payano and Hanely del Rosario. For more information, click here. In addition, the same play will have an English-language production in October (to be directed by DChristy Eves) at Atlanta Metropolitan State College/University System of Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia.

Víctor Cruz did a voiceover for the theater production Snow White and the Beast (written by Mathilde DeHaye and directed by Rénoly Santiago). Starring DeHaye and Mauricio Bustamante, the play is scheduled for a July run at the Marilyn Monroe Theater at the Lee Strasberg Film and Theater Institute, located in the Union Square area of Manhattan.

Manny Alfaro booked a role in the film Actor Seeks Role (story by Ben Nabors, screenplay by Nabors and Michael Tyburski and directed by Tyburski).
