HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Modesto Lacén, shown at right, was profiled in the iMujer blog. In the interview and profile, he talks of his roles playing Roberto Clemente in the bio-musical DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story (soon to resume a U.S. tour, with stops in Chicago, Illinois and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and his current role as Jastón in Marco Antonio Rodríguez's Barceló con hielo, which is currently playing at Repertorio Español in Manhattan's Rose Hill neighborhood. Mauricio Bustamante is starring in the Mathilde DeHaye play Snow White and the Beast. Directed by Rénoly Santiago, it is scheduled for a July run at the Marilyn Monroe Theater at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, located in the Union Square area of Manhattan. 

Marlene Forté, shown at left, was interviewed by Néstor Bentancor for the Desde Hollywood blog, where she spoke of how she got started acting, her roles in the TNT series "Dallas", the J.J. Abrams-helmed reboot of the Star Trek franchise, and the state of Latinos in the media in general (plus why Latinos need their version of a Tyler Perry and how Robert Rodríguez comes close). Manny Alfaro and Mateo Gómez are starring in the short film The Wine Taster (written and directed by Ricardo Bacallao). 

Roberto Sanábria, shown at right, booked a World Cup-themed public service announcement (PSA) regarding the dangers of jaywalking after he read the casting notice in HOLA's daily e-mail announcements it sends to its members and self-submitting.
