HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Joselyn Martínez, at far right in the photo at right, was named a "Fun Fearless Female" by Cosmopolitan magazine for the month of December 2013 (with Miley Cyrus on the cover, at near right). She was considered a woman who is "kicking ass and making a difference" for solving the "cold case" (unsolved) murder of her father 26 years after it occurred through detective work of her own, leading to the arrest and arraignment of the murderer.

Milteri Tucker and the Bombazo Dance Company will be performing Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the new headquarters of the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD!), now located in the Westchester Square neighborhood of the Bronx. For more information, click here or here.

Annie Henk and Berto Colón are starring in the short film Since I Laid Eyes (written and directed by Adel L. Morales).

J.F. Seary is set to perform her spoken word poetry on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Noche Dorada event, sponsored by the Kappa chapter of the Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity and La Unidad Latina of Yale University. The event will take place at the Loricco Ballroom at New Haven, Connecticut.

2013 HOLA Awards recipient José Roldán, Jr. was the subject of a segment on the television series "Open" (hosted by Rhina Valentín) on BronxNet (edited and reported by Christina Pagán) where his recent HOLA Awards win for Outstanding Solo Production was the focus.
