HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Kathy Tejada
and Alejandro Moscoso join the cast of the E3Outlaws Productions and United Productions' presentation of Federico García Lorca's Bodas de sangre. Directed by Enmanuel García, the production will take place in December at the Producers Club Theater (located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan). The cast also includes Adela María Bolet, Carmen Cabrera, Caridad Del Valle, Mauricio Pita, Yvette Quintero, Johanna Ramírez, Eduardo Ramos, Ricardo J. Salazar and Clairet Villamizar. Ángela Cove, Sandy Hernández and María Teresa Silva, shown clockwise from above left, will act in the play Bad Uncle. Written and directed by Rob Torres, the play will have a December run in Norman Thomas High School located in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood. The actors found out about the play after they read about the casting notice in the daily e-mail announcements HOLA sends to its members and self-submitted. For more information, click here.
 

Jeannie Sol will be singing at Mamajuana Café in Manhattan's Upper West Side where she will share the bill with a bevy of beauties on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 (Thanksgiving eve).

Miguel Rangel is set to release his first collection of songs. Entitled Condones para el corazón (album cover shown at right), the collection of a dozen songs consisting of canciones norteñas, cumbias and baladas is set to be released this December.

David Zayas
and Mike Smith Rivera acted in the 52nd Street Project's first Youngblood brunch of the 2012-2013 season. The 52nd Street Project works with neighborhood children on original theater pieces. This particular incarnation was called America The Brunchiful and featured works by five playwrights (Rachel Bonds, Dylan Dawson, Eric Dufault, Darcy Flowers and Christopher Sullivan). Directed by Kel Haney, R.J. Tolan, Robbie Sáenz di Viteri, Jaime Richards and Abigail Zealey Baess, respectively, all the pieces featured music by Eric March and took place in November at the Ensemble Studio Theater, located in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan.
