HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Marina Catalán (also see below)Alicia Cerón, and Julissa Román were highlighted in Broadway World, as a result of them starring in the LaMicro Theater production of Leonardo González's play Nanas. Produced by Berioska Ipinza and Pietro González (also featured in the article), the recently shuttered play was directed by Tatiana Pandiani and took place in June at IATI Theater, located in Manhattan's East Village. A.B. Lugo will be performing his work at a book release event for his recently published book Spanish Coffee: Black, No Sugar (La Casita Grande). The event will take place on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Word Up Community Bookstore in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. For more information, click here.

Elaine Del Valle just finished filming a guest-starring role in the television series "The Sinner" (USA), where she will act opposite Bill Pullman and Jessica Biel. In addition, 
the William Caballero animated short film Víctor and Isolina (which Del Valle produced with Louis Perego Moreno [Tío Louie]) is continuing its run on the film festival circuit, and winning awards along the way. The film, which utilized 3D models of its protagonists (based on the grandparents of the writer-director), just won Best Short Documentary at the Provincetown Film Festival, which took place in June in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
