HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Andrea Navedo, shown at right, was featured in an article in People magazine regarding her health and nutrition regimen. To read the article, click here.

Gualterio Alomar is directing the documentary Colonization is Extinction, which deals with the status of Puerto Rico as a commonwealth/colony of the United States. For more information, and to see two trailers of the documentary, click here.

Rhina Valentín honored four Latinas who were both mothers and entrepreneurs (dubbed "mompreneurs") through her MNN television series "Colors of Rhina" for a Women's History Month event on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Bronx Museum of the Arts (located in the Morrisania section of the Bronx). The NYC Mothers Flo Award honorees were Evette Ríos, April Hernández-Castillo, Shirley Rodríguez, and Verónica Caicedo. In addition, each (including Valentín) received a certificate of appreciation from State Senator Gustavo Rivera. Héctor Palacios co-wrote and will star in and co-produce the feature film Buga (co-written, co-produced and directed by Juan Carlos Londoño). The film is currently in pre-production. For more information, click here, or look at the trailer below.
