HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Mildred Ruiz-Sapp, shown at right, was featured in an article in The New York Times, where she was interviewed regarding art and its role in activism. She can currently be seen with her husband Steven Sapp and her brother William "Ninja" Ruiz (collectively they are known as Universes) in the play Party People. Written by Universes, the production is directed by Liesl Tommy and is currently running at The Public Theater in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood. To read the article, click here.

Angélica Álvarez and
Tannia Kustka are starring in the short film Allyssa (written by Álvarez and directed by Álvarez and Jheimy Durán), which is currently in production. For more information, click here.

Enmanuel García Villavicencio, shown at left, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera), where he was featured with his recent directing gig of the Matías Montes Huidobro play Gas en los poros, which was presented in November by E3Outlaws Productions at the Broadway Blackbox Theater. Allison Strong will perform a set of Latin jazz and holiday favorites on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. The performance is a part of
the Valley Hospital Auxiliary Saddle River Valley Branch Holiday Luncheon. Proceeds benefit the Valley Medical Group's Child & Adolescent Mental Health Program. For more information, click here.
