1st Annual Padrino & Madrina Awards 2014
As we wrap
up 2014, we count our blessings. But as we embark on a new year we also take
stock: where have we come from, where are we now, and where are we going in
2015? Heaven knows we can’t do it alone and in PRIME LATINO MEDIA we firmly believe in the power of networking and
forging relationships to move forward. We know the power of having a “Padrino”
and “Madrina” (Godfather & Godmother) in the industry. To that effect we
highlight two individuals who on top of working successfully, they firmly believe
in the artistic Latino community and supporting. No better way to kick off our
prospects for 2015 in full Latino style ~ ¡Latinos Unidos!

David Zayas
Star of stage and screen, he was raised in the Bronx. He won raves as the terrifying and
powerful prisoner Enrique Morales, from HBO's Oz. A longtime member of the LAByrinth Theater Company, he had his
debut on Broadway in Nilo Cruz’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna in the
Tropics. He was seen playing Ángel Batista in the hit Showtime series Dexter. He received the 2012 HOLA José Ferrer Tespis Award. This year alone he was in
the TV series Saint George with
George Lopez and Olga Merediz and recently in the breakout Fox TV series, Gotham playing the mobster, Sal Maroni.
But what is most impressive about this performer is that in spite of the
heights he has reached professionally, he has no qualms about acting in independent
films by Latinos and first-time filmmakers. He believes that it keeps him
current and immersed in innovation, as well as a belief in this is how we build
community. He is a member of Latino artistic organizations believing in the
power of support.
