HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

The musical DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story is performing at the GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington, D.C. Written and performed by Luis Caballero, the play boasts musical direction from Didier Prossaird and choreography by Luis Salgado, the musical stars Modesto Lacén, Josean Ortiz, Xiomara Rodríguez, Keren Lugo, Valeria Cossu, Alexandra Linn, Fernando Contreras, Carlos Saldaña and Miguel Vásquez, and runs in April and May. Nanda Abella, shown at right, starred in the short film Courage (directed by Michael Martínez). The film was screened in April at New Filmmakers at Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan's East Village and is an official selection of both the 2013 New York City International Film Festival and the 2013 NYLA International Film Festival, respectively. Teatro TEBA is having the world premiere of the play Descalzas. Written by Cristián Cortez Galecio and directed by Héctor Luis Rivera, the play will take place in May at Teatro Soy in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood and star Martha Alzate, Emir Cruz, Agar García, Fior Marte, Damiana Reyes, Kathy Tejada and Claudio Marcel Weisz.


A newscast on October 30, 2012 about Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy written by Martín Untrojb, shown at left, for WCBS Newsradio won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast.

Ernesto De Villa Bejjani can be seen in a commercial for Boss Revolution telephone card.

Félix Hiciano is acting in the play Break in at Tiffany's. Written by Kathleen Wilce and Alp Gokce, the play is performing in April at the Cabrini Repertory Theater in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. For more information, click here.
