use it to mention HOLA
members or Friends of HOLA
who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or
recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are
listed below in boldface.
Vanessa Verduga, shown at right, won the Lead Actress in a Dramedy at the Los Angeles Web Festival for the webseries "Justice Woman", which she created, wrote and stars. For more information, click here or here.
Also a winner at the Los Angeles Web Festival was Edwin Pagán, shown at left, whose webseries "Poker Night", which he co-produced and shot, won three awards– for Best Ensemble Cast, Best Visual & Special Effects, and Best Producing in a Comedy Series, respectively. J.W. Cortés can be seen playing the protagonist in the Yovanny Palenco and Jenny La Sexy Voz music video "Como funciona el amor".
Ziad Tayeh, shown behind the scenes and in character at right in the photo at right, booked a role as a boxer sparring with the protagonist in a re-creation flashback scene for a documentary on Rubin "Hurricane" Carter to air on TV One.
Enmanuel García is set to direct Dario Fo's The Virtuous Burglar. The production is set for an April and May run at Roy Arias Stage IV at the Times Square Art Center, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.
Miriam Colón-Valle can be seen playing New York Giants wide receiver Víctor Cruz's grandmother in a commercial for Campbell's Chunky Soup. The commercial can be seen by clicking on the video below.
