Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members are in boldface.
Alberto Bonilla, shown at left, is set to helm Anthony Pennino's play Día de los Muertos. Produced by Teatro LATEA and Core Creative Productions, the play will have a July run at Teatro LATEA, located in the Loísaida neighborhood in Manhattan. The production is associate directed by Lawrence Ballard and features Alberto Bonilla, Ariel Bonilla (no relation), Ryan Wesley Brown, Javier E. Gómez, Eevin Hartsough, Ydaiber Orozco, Michael Poignand, Robert C. Raicch, Maria Sherranz, Alexander Stine and Adyana de la Torre. (Gómez and Orozco, shown above right from left to right, nabbed their roles after reading about the play in one of the many casting notices HOLA sends to its members.)
Ricardo Alvarado e-mailed us to let us know that he booked a role in the Brett Sorem film Pablo on Wheels. He got the audition after the casting director found his profile in the HOLA online directory of talent. Produced by Nocturnal Features, the film starts shooting this week. Says Alvarado, "Gracias again for your love and support, but above all, for providing us with such a great service like HOLA and believing in me and my fellow actors. I know that at times it may seem that your efforts go unnoticed, but not for a moment, I assure you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! Can't thank you enough."
Diana Pou and José A. Siri are performing in Concierto de Trovas y Boleros. The concert is produced by Enmanuel García of E3Outlaws Productions features classic and current songs and will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Sala Don Iván García Guerra in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.
