HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. David Zayas and Olga Merediz, shown above from left to right, were interviewed by Latina magazine, where they spoke of being series regulars of the FX television series "Saint George" (also starring George López and Danny Trejo). To read the article, click here.

John Leguizamo, shown at right, was profiled in the Hollywood Reporter, where it was announced that he has signed on to join the cast of the Gonzalo López Gallego film The Man on Carrion Road. The film also stars Jim Belushi and Lynn Collins. To read the article, click here.

María Fontanals and Pablo Andrade acted in the Karen Valecillos play Cuentos de guerra para dormir en paz. Directed by Jim Boerlin, the play was presented in March as part of the IV Festival de Teatro Hispano del Comisionado at El Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en EEUU in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. María Hinojosa, shown at left, was selected as one of the Latinovator Award recipients by Hispanicize 2014. The Latinovator Awards recognize Latinos who have done something notable or remarkable. Hispanicize 2014 is an annual Latino trends event that takes place in April in Miami, Florida. For more information, click here.

Vivienne Jurado is starring in the film Dirty Shield (directed by Edgar Jimz). The film continues to hit the film festival circuit– its most recent stop is on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 as part of the New Filmmakers Showcase at the Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan's East Village.
