Hermán Chaves held another workshop on The Mental Game of Auditioning. Produced by HOLAfábrica, the workshop is designed to help actors not get intimidated and do their best at auditions. It took place over two days at Los Kabayitos Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood.
At the end of the workshop, students were given a survey to fill out. The opinions was pretty much unanimous in praise for Chaves and his direct, "no BS" approach. Some of the opinions are below.
• "[Hermán] is a passionate conveyor of the basic knowledge an actor needs to demystify the audition [process]."
• "Very informative and helpful. Gave me a little push to go auditioning."
• "This is one of the best seminars I've attended."
• "I gained a real life perspective of the entertainment industry and simple techniques I could use."
• "Hermán has a passion for what he does, it shows in his work."
