Julio Ortega, shown at right, was profiled in the Ecuadorian newspaper El Comercio, where highlighted his feature film Medardo (which he wrote and starred), based on his award-winning stage play of the same name and directed by Nitsy Grau Crespo. In addition to Ortega, the film stars Lupita Ferrer, Edna Lee Figueroa, Juan Villarreal, Edison Carrera, and Inma Heredia. Jason Torres has been cast as the lead in the feature film Mito (written and directed by Jeremy St. Romain and Michael Pickett). The film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to be shot in the summer of 2015 in New York City.
Mario Golden and Yvette Quintero, shown at right, from left to right, in character, were profiled in the industry publication Latin Heat for their work in the upcoming production of El canto de Carlota (Charlotte's Song). Written by Nancy Ferragallo, the dance-theater piece is directed by Andreas Robertz and Golden, choreographed by Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings. This will be the piece's Spanish-language world premiere, and it will have a one-evening benefit performance for the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood.
