Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Mario Golden and Yvette Quintero, shown at right, from left to right, in character, were profiled in the Arte y Teatro en Nueva York (ARTENY) for their work in the upcoming production of El canto de Carlota (Charlotte's Song). Written by Nancy Ferragallo, the dance-theater piece is directed by Andreas Robertz and Golden, choreographed by Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings. This will be the piece's Spanish-language world premiere, and it will have a one-evening benefit performance for the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Raúl Rivera, Héctor Luis Rivera, and Enmanuel García Villavicencio, shown at left, from left to right, during a break in rehearsal, were profiled in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog, where it highlighted their roles as actors in the upcoming production Los monólogos de Abniel Marat. An evening of monologues by the late Puerto Rican playwright, it will be directed by García Villavicencio and also star J. Edgar Mozoub. It will be presented in May as part of the V Festival Internacional de Monólogos Don Iván García Guerra, taking place at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Elaine Del Valle, shown at right, in character, was profiled in Broadway World, where it highlighted the upcoming production of her award-winning self-penned solo show Brownsville Bred (directed by Pamela Moller Kareman). Part of a kickoff of New York's City Park Foundation's SummerStage series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary by, among other things, presenting 30 artists in 30 days (known collectively as Summerstage30), her show (winner of an HOLA Award) will be presented in June in at Betsy Head Park in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville (coincidentally, where the show takes place). Eduardo Leáñez and Patrick E. Horrigan will be presenting their spring installment of their performance series, Actors with Accents.
