Manny Herrera's Spanish Language Voiceover Workshop was instrumental in my career development. Since I took this workshop, I have booked a number of Spanish-language commercials, industrials, dubbing, and special projects. In the past year alone, based only on my voiceover demo (which is on file at a commercial media company), I was offered a television campaign and was brought back three times. As a result I earned over $30,000. Take this workshop. Manny is an excellent teacher, and you can be sure to increase your skills and earning capacity. Actor, playwright, director, producer and voiceover artist MARIO GOLDEN

Manny Herrera, Voiceover Motivator, HOLA Special Projects Director, actor, director and voiceover artist will direct an advanced voice-over technique workshop for the experienced actor who wishes to fine-tune his/her technique. HOLA Member Bochinche!

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

HOLA member Laura Riveros is part of the cast of Songs About Trains, a celebration of the many cultures that contributed to the building of the cross country rail system in the United States. Through music and performance, we grapple with the thorny realities of immigration, labor, Manifest Destiny, and pillaging of Native American land that are central to our history, while also lifting up the victories of a multicultural, multilingual workforce that made our country what it is today. A Radical Evolution production, and part of the Rough Draft Festival, Songs About Trains will have three performances April 17th - April 18th.  For more information, click here.

HOLA Awards winner Teatro SEA opened their new show Tango Dancing Cinderella, a bilingual musical of the classic fairytale about a humble girl who works very hard to reach her dreams. With a little bit of magic and, not to mention that she is the best “Tango” dancer in the kingdom, she discovers her self-esteem and Prince Charming. They will be having a special Cinco de Mayo Papel Picado Workshop on Sat., May 5th directly after the show. Children will create their own art project. Only 30 spots available. Directed by Manuel Moran and choreographed by HOLA Award winner Daniel Fetecua. To learn more about the show, click here, and for tickets, click here.
R.Evolución Latina presents To Be Or Not To Be; A Shakespearean Experience, devised under the direction of Luis Salgado in collaboration with Ian Hersey, from the Public Theater, and Leon Insgulsrud, from SITI Company. The piece explores the question of what it means to be an immigrant in the US facing the challenge of the English language, finding their place in society and belonging. The spirit of Raul Julia -one of the first latinos to thrive at the classical Shakespearean work at the Public Theater in NYC- will guide the characters into the light and self-acceptance they need to open the doors of possibilities and together break the walls that hinder their potential in our society today. R.Evolución Latina is beyond thrilled to at last use the works of Shakespeare in a way that can celebrate community as a whole. R.Evolución Latina partners with Pregones/PRTT Raul Julia Training unit, furthering the legacy of Myriam Colón. Directed by Luis Salgado, the show will play April 4th through April 7th at Harlem School of the Arts. For more info and tickets, click here

HOLA member Victor Cruz appears in the new BP commercial "Clean Your Engine". Congratulations, Victor! You can see the video by clicking here.\

HOLA member Sandie Luna presents Modesteat, a multimedia project taking back the image of brown bodies in the role of mother and demystifying the act of breastfeeding. The show will take place over two floors of installations. Modesteat will take place at Punto Space, May 11th - 13th. To RSVP, please email info@puntospace.com.
