July Celebrates Working Artist Mothers
As multimedia-makers & actors we know all too well the struggle of working at our craft – throw into the mix raising a family. We feature two women who are working at their craft within media and entertainment, creating projects and raising their kids. One just shot in the hit series "ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK", comes out in a feature film with Sylvester Stallone and is raising teens. Another writes for El Diario and just finished a book with two kids under the age of three. Hear strategies from two indefatigable & successful gems from our community and join independent multimedia-makers and actors in theater, film, television, commercials and new media and partake in networking, conversation, wine and food.

Johanna Tolentino
Recently, she booked a co-starring role on "Orange is the New Black", appeared as Rosa in The Buddy Holly Story at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, a co-starring role on the NBC show "Do No Harm" and is coming out in the fall in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming Rocky sequel, Creed. She got her first big break at the age of 16 on the feature film Lean On Me with Morgan Freeman. Johanna trained at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in audition technique, voice and acting before booking roles in regional theaters, regional commercials and industrial films. She is now preparing to launch an IndieGoGo campaign for the webseries "Whatever It Takes", in which she is the creator, producer and lead actor. https://vimeo.com/101018529
A Colombian-born writer with a Master's in International Relations from NYU, she works at Impremedia as an Entertainment and Culture Reporter in which her features have appeared in El Diario/La Prensa de Nueva York and La Opinión of Los Angeles. She's interviewed internationally renowned artists ranging from Ricky Martin to Gloria Estefan. As author, she just launched a debut Spanish-language e-novel, Entre piernas: confesiones de una devoradora de hombres (Between the Legs: Confessions of a Man-eater). This feminist e-novel intertwines sexuality, mental freedom and urban culture, with the internal struggles of Latinas. Next project… a film version of the book.http://www.editorialtrance.com/bookstore/entre_piernas:_confesiones_de_una_devoradora_de_hombres/
