HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Rafael Beato, shown at right, was featured in the Metro daily newspaper in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as a result of him winning the 2017 New York Latin ACE Award in the category of Outstanding Male Performer in Musical Theater for his role in the Repertorio Español production of the Cándido Tirado-Vico C musical La canción. Valeria Avina is one of the stars of the short film Inveigh. Written by Adam González, Damian Bastar and Mario Leone and directed by González, the suspense-horror-thriller film from Gilded Harbor Productions will shoot in February in Yonkers, New York. For more information, click here or here.

Caridad del Valle, Pablo García Gámez, A.B. Lugo, Manuel A. Morán, Yvette Quintero, Raúl Rivera, and Kathy Tejada were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by Héctor Luis Rivera), where each was featured for their recent and/or upcoming projects and/or recent artistic achievements. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja), along with several other members (Shadia Fairuz, Joseph "Quique" González, and Gilberto "Don Sonero" Velázquez) of the recent salsa jukebox musical I Like It Like That (presented at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater) surprised original lead star Tito Nieves at his concert in February at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Caguas, Puerto Rico by going on stage and serenaded him with the classic song "Hacha y Machete" (which was the closing song of the musical).
