HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Pablo Andrade, shown at right, starred with Ingrid Wheatley in the Karin Valecillos play Héroes perdidos (Lost Heroes). Directed by Andrade (and co-directed by Wheatley), the Corezón production is being presented in February as part of The Central Matter exhibition at The World Bank in Washington, District of Columbia.
Arisleyda Lombert, shown at left and also see below) will be one of the performers in Eve Ensler's Los monólogos de la vagina. Presented by Teatro las Tablas and directed by Yolanny Rodríguez, it will be presented on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at El Comisionado Domincano de Cultura en EEUU (CoDoCul) in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.

The Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos de Nueva York (ACE) announced the winners of the 49th annual New York Latin ACE Awards. Among the winners this year are HOLA members Marisol Carrere, Ángel Gil Orrios, Soledad López, Manuel A. Morán (who won two awards this year), Yvette Quintero, Alfonso Rey, Héctor Luis Rivera, Raúl Rivera, Susan Rybin, and Kathy Tejada. In addition, Miriam Cruz and Arisleyda Lombert (also see above) are among the honorees receiving the ACE Award for Extraordinary Distinction and Merit. The 2017 ACE Awards will be presented on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Flamboyán Theater in The Clemente Soto Vélez and Cultural Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. For more information, click here or here (note that both websites are in Spanish).

Luis Carlos de La Lombana acted opposite former HOLA Awards honoree John Leguizamo in a Spanish-language Optimum commercial, which can be seen below.
