HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Natalia Ivana Escobar, shown at right, was featured in the Ahora News blog, where her role in Peter Shaffer's play Royal Hunt of the Sun as part of the Peter Shaffer Memorial, to be presented on Monday, April 3, 2016 by The Fundamental Theater Project at the American Airlines Theater, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. To read the blog, which is in Spanish, click here.

Luis Salgado (also see below) and Maite Uzalshown at left, left to right, in a post-performance discussion and in character, respectively, were featured in an article from Broadway World where his role as director-choreographer and her role as Abuela Claudia in the extended (due to popular demand) Axelrod Performing Arts Center (APAC) production of the Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes musical In The Heights were highlighted. The production ran in March and April at Axelrod's eponymous theater in Deal Park, New Jersey. To read the article, click here.

Luis Salgado (also see above) and Rafael Beatoshown at right, are featured in Broadway World for their roles as director-choreographer and Sonny, respectively, in the GALA Hispanic Theatre production of the Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes musical In The Heights. That production will be the U.S. premiere of the Spanish-language version of the musical, which will run in April and May at GALA's eponymous theater in the North West area of Washington, District of Columbia. To read the article, click here.

José Yenque
 co-wrote and co-stars in the film short In A Parallel World (co-written by Pablo Andrade and Mario Genel; directed by Genel). The film is hitting the film festival circuit, where it recently won first place in the Hazlo en Corto national competition of the Fundación Cinépolis (based in Morelia, Michoacán, and Mexico City, D.F., Mexico) for social filmmaking.
