HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Daniel Anthony Hidalgo, shown at right, will be acting in the play Vida de perro. Written and directed by Félix Otero, the production will be presented in May at Lehman Stages in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx. He booked the role after the director spotted his headshot in the online HOLA directory of talent and asked him to audition.

Laura Riveros will be acting in the play Where There Was Fire? Adapted from Fires by Marguerite Yourcenar and directed by Ramiro Antonio Sandoval, the cast sports original muic by Samuel Torres and includes Ibeth Massari, Ana Guerrero and Verónica Tierra and will be presented in May at Theater for the New City in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. Pregones Theater is presenting the musical Neon Baby. Conceived and directed by Jorge B. Merced and based on the book by Queer Latino Testimonio, Keith Haring, and Juanito Xtravaganza: Hard Tails by Arnaldo Cruz Malavé, the musical's book is written by Ricardo Pérez-González, with music and lyrics by Desmar Guevara and Merced (and additional lyrics by Elise Hernández, Pérez-González and the ensemble) and choreography by Richard Rivera. The musical will run in May and June at Pregones' eponymous theater in the Mott Haven area of the South Bronx and feature Chad Carstarphen; Sol Crespo; Elise Hernández; Jonathan Hoover; Omar Garibay; Cedric Leiba, Jr.; Ashton Pina; and Carlos Salazar in the cast.
