HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting and performance gigs.

Teatro SEA has a new home on the first floor of the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (also home to HOLA)! It is set to inaugurate its new space with the production of ¡Viva Pinocho! The solo show is written, directed and performed by SEA's Founder and Executive Director Manuel Morán and will take place on May 5, 2011 in the theater located in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. For more information on the theater, click here.

Johnathan Cedano is acting in Lessons on the A Train. Written and directed by Tony-nominee Reg e. Gaines, the play is being performed as part of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in the West Side of Manhattan. In addition, he will be performing the solo show Confessions of a Homo Thug Porn Star (written by James Earl Hardy and directed by Indio Meléndez) at The B Spot in the southeast section of Washington, D.C. He also completed the short film Spooking by filmmakers Carmen Oquendo Villar and Jorge B. Merced. (Also in the film are Indio Meléndez, Carlos Alberto Valencia, Charlie Vázquez, Rob Vassilarakis, Ramell Meléndez and Rafael Meléndez.)

Soledad Del Río e-mailed us to say that she is acting alongside Juliana Klein and Isadora Vasconcellos in Jack Heifner's play Vanities. Directed by Estrela Straus, the play is being performed at the Curitiba Fringe Festival in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil and then continue its Brazilian tour with stops in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Gladys K. Nilsen dropped us a line to let us know that she booked a commercial for KGBdeals for the United Kingdom market.

If you are an HOLA member and want to submit a bochinche item, send us an e-mail at holagram@hellohola.org. If you are not an HOLA member, why not join?
