HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Andrea Navedo, shown at right, will be honored (along with other former HOLA Award honorees Luis Guzmán and John Quiñones, as well as ESPN and the Hulu series "East Los High") at the 19th annual Impact Awards gala, presented by the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), which this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary The gala will take place on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, located in Beverly Hills, California. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will be performing at an event titled The Dollhouse EmancipationDescribed as an evening of art, networking, spoken word and high fashion, which will take place as you walk through a historical manor. Produced by Aval & Company, the event will take place

Manny Herrera, shown at left, was featured in El Blog de Pablo (created and edited by Pablo García Gámez), as a result of his Spanish-Language Voiceover workshop that HOLA is presenting in March at its office, located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center, located in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Lucio Fernández is a member of the Cuban music group Máxima Alerta, which will be playing a gig on Friday, February 26, 2016 at famed nightspot Maxwell's, located in Hoboken, New Jersey. For more information (and to buy tickets), click here.

Judy Torres, shown at right, has quite the busy schedule. Besides being an actress and recording artist, she is also a DJ and radio personality for WKTU 103.FM in New York, where she has a Sunday afternoon show, a fitness instructor and advice columnist for Latin Trends magazine. In spite of all that, she still finds the time to go out and sing her hits across the country. She will sing at Bar/Club 360 at Resorts World Casino, located in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens on Friday, February 26, 2016; as headliner of the Freestyle Forever 10 concert at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, located in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx on Saturday, March 5, 2016; and at the Watra Night Club in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, March, 26, 2016.
