HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

A.B. Lugo, Indio Meléndez and Omar Pérez, shown at right, from left to right, were selected to present and perform in their self-penned solo shows for the Callback Series festival presented by Teatro Círculo. The plays are Manchild Machismo (directed by Omar Pérez), Someday A Father Be (directed by Dudley Findlay, Jr.), and Rhapsodia (directed by Mino Lora), respectively. The pieces will be presented together in March at Teatro Círculo's namesake space in Manhattan's East Village. For more information on the festival, click here.

Aileene Pérez and Edward Azcorra acted in Caravana de sueños. Presented by Producciones Barrera, it is written and directed by América Barrera, the play will be produced in January at the Poet's Den Theater in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood.


Marcelo Carrascosa, shown at leftis starring in 1989: A Musical PlayDevised and directed by Tatiana Pandiani, with music by Soda Stereo, Sumo, Virus, Abuelos de la Nada, and others, this bilingual (Spanish-English) musical will be presented by Columbia Stages at the Connelly Theater located in Manhattan's East Village.
