Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice recipient Elizardi Castro, shown at right, performed a standup comedy set on a double bill with Josué Comedy on an evening titled "Él de la Isla y él de allá afuera". The gig took place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Chestnut Accelerated School Auditorium in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Edison Carrera, shown at left, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera, also see below) for his roles as assistant director, costume and makeup designer for the Artistas Latinos Unidos de Nueva York (ALUNY) stage production of Miss Universo 2016. Written by Giovanni Jerez and directed by Fior Marte, the production will take place in December at The Producers' Club, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. Miluka Rivera was featured in an article in the Puerto Rican daily newspaper El Vocero de Puerto Rico, where she presided over a recent dedication to the Puerto Rican actor Juano Hernández in the Teatro Municipal Alejandro Tapia in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico (Rivera recently had a book release event for her biography of Hernández, Genial Juano Hernández: de vagabundo a estrella de Hollywood, in New York City). 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo García Gámez, Marco Antonio Rodríguez and Manolo García Oliva, shown at left, right, and below right, respectively, were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera, also see above and below) for their recent and upcoming accomplishments. García Oliva was noted for the presentation titled "El teatro cubano en Nueva York", about Cuban theater in New York at the Broadway Blackbox Theater (in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood). Rodríguez was featured for the upcoming production of his stage adaptation of the Julia Álvarez best-selling novel In the Name of Salomé (to be presented in February at Repertorio Español, located in the Rose Hill section of Manhattan). García Gámez was lauded for the recent production in Buenos Aires production of his award-winning play Noche tan linda (directed by Romina Oslé at the DelBorde Espacio Teatral, located in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Capital Federal). 2016 HOLA Awards recipient A.B. Lugo and Anthony Ruiz, above, left to right, were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera, also see above) for their roles as actor/co-screenwriter and director of photography/co-producer of the award-winning short film ¡Ay, Que Susto! The film, co-written and co-produced by Mo Zapata (and which co-stars Natalia Ivana Escobar), will be presented at the 2016 HOLAfestival, alongside films written by 2016 HOLA Awards honoree Víctor Cruz, Lucio Fernández and Iliana Guibert, on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Teatro LATEA at The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood.
