HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

2016 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo Andrade, shown at right, co-stars in the film short The X Job, which is hitting the film festival circuit. Written and directed by Gerard Méndez, its latest stop will be in October at the International Film Festival Manhattan (which will screen at The Producers' Club Theater, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan). Andrea Navedo, shown at left, was cast in the feature film Bright. Written by Max Landis and scheduled to be directed by David Ayer, the film (which was acquired by Netflix) will also star Will Smith, Joel Egerton, and Noomi Rapace. Shooting is scheduled to begin this month. For more information, read the article in Deadline by clicking here.

Anthony Ruiz shot a national commercial for IKEA.

Teresa Yenque guest-starred in an episode in "Blue Bloods" (CBS).
Javier E. Gómez, shown at right, holding his award, and also see below, was one of the recipients of the Él Award from New York daily newspaper El Diario/La Prensa. The award is given to distinguished Latino leaders in NYC. Other Él Award recipients this year included Andrew Herrera, David Villa Sánchez and Carlos Andrés.

Mónica Delgado was interviewed by Javier E. Gómez (also see above) on his talk and community affairs program "Diálogo abierto", where she spoke about the upcoming 2016 HOLA Awards, taking place on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Flamboyán Theater in The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood.
