HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Christian López Lamelas, shown at right, is co-starring in the play 4th Rib From The Right. Created by Julie Gaarskjær and Kamilla Reinholdt Pedersen, the production is directed by Tania Kass (with original music by Amanda Mistry). The production is scheduled to run in October at IATI Theater in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here and here.

Ura Yoana Sánchez
 booked a role on "The Deuce" (HBO).


Francisco Fuertesshown at leftis co-starring in and co-produced the short film Tú. Yo. Baño. Sexo. Ahora. (You. Me. Bathroom. Sex. Now.) Written and directed by Francisco Lupini Basagoiti, the film has been hitting the international film festival circuit hard, winning several awards along the way. Its next stop is in the Queer - Streifen Filmfestival 2016 in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. For more information, click here.

2016 HOLA Awards recipient A.B. Lugo co-wrote and co-stars in the short film ¡Ay, Que Susto! Co-written and directed by Mo Zapata, the horror-comedy was co-produced and shot by Anthony Ruiz and co-stars Andrés Chulisi Rodríguez, Jessie Cotto, Félix Hiciano and Natalia Ivana Escobar and is hitting the film festival circuit, where it was recently named as a finalist in the NoHu International Film Festival (produced by Lucio Fernández), taking place in October at the William V. Musto Cultural Center/Union City Museum in the West Hoboken area of Union City, New Jersey. For more information on the festival, click here
