HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Manuel A. Morán, shown at right, was featured in the Puerto Rican daily newspaper El Nuevo Día, where it talks of him taking his 2015 HOLA Award-winning production of Sueño (based on the William Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream; adapted by Norge Espinosa and directed by Morán) to Puerto Rico. The production will be part of the 51st annual Festival de Teatro Internacional of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (ICP), which is dedicated to Morán. Sueño will take place in December at the world famous El Castillo San Felipe del Morro (more commonly known as El Morro) in Viejo San Juan. To read the article, which is in Spanish, click here.

Edison Carrera is directing Dinorah Coronado's Secreto de mujeres. The play, which features Maritza Vives in the cast, will take place as part of the Festival Internacional de Teatro - Mujeres en Escena (FITME 2015), taking place in November at the William V. Musto Cultural Center/Union City Museum in the West Hoboken area of Union City, New Jersey. For more information, click here.

2015 HOLA Performer's Choice Award recipient Raúl Rivera is directing Arnaldo Rodríguez's play El chismecito. The production will feature Martha Alzate in the cast and be produced in November as part of the En Un Acto Theater and Film Festival, being presented by TEBA at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Marcos Sotomayor acted in The Flama comedy video "If Dominicans Created Uber" (He can be seen briefly as the "potential cat caller". To see the video, click here or on the top video below. He also appears in the third webisode of the webseries "The Streets" (written and directed by Will Hue and produced by Old Kid Productions), which can be seen in the bottom video below (caution: adult language and violence).
