HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Caridad de la Luz, also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja, shown at right, will be performing on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at State University of New York at

He is costarring in the upcoming musical On Your Feet!: The Story of Gloria & Emilio Estefan, written by 2015 HOLA Awards honoree Alexander Dinelaris with music by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Elaine Del Valle was featured in an article by Raúl A. Reyes of NBCNews.com where her role as a co-producer of the popular interactive webseries "Gran'pa Knows Best" was mentioned. Del Valle negotiated an acquisition deal with HBO Latino for the series (in a first of its kind deal for interstitial programming). Created, co-produced, directed, shot and edited by William D. Caballero and based on his award-winning short film How You Doin', Boy? Voicemails From Gran'pa, its star is Caballero's own grandfather Víctor Muriel (who voices the title character, itself a 3D model of Muriel). To read the article, click here. In addition, she was interviewed by Rhina Valentín on the television program "Open" (BronxNet) about the "Gran'pa Knows Best" (which can also be seen on HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO On Demand, in addition to HBO Latino). To see the interview, which also features the 3D version of Gran'pa, click on the video below.
