HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Elaine Del Valleshown at rightwill be performing her award-winning self-penned solo show Brownsville Bred (directed by Pamela Moller Kareman) as part of a kickoff of New York's City Park Foundation's SummerStage series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary by, among other things, presenting 30 artists in 30 days (known collectively as Summerstage30). The show (a winner of an HOLA Award for Best Solo Production) will be presented in June in at Betsy Head Park in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville (coincidentally, where the show takes place). For more information, click here. In addition, she will be hosting the 13th Annual Mansion Ride for Autism– a cycling event she created that has raised about a million dollars for charity. The fundraiser will occur on Sunday, June 14, 2015 in Long Island, New York. For more information, click here.

The Francisco Lupini Basagoiti short film Tú. Yo. Baño. Sexo. Ahora. (starring Francisco Fuertes and Mauricio Pitacontinues its journey on the film festival circuit, with a stop in June at the Outfest Perú Film Festival, where it will screen at the Centro Cultural de España, located in Lima, Lima, Perú. For more information, click here or here.

Mario Goldenshown at left, will be starring in his play The Love of Brothers (Amor de hermanos). Directed by Andreas Robertz, the play will be presented in August at the Centro Cultural de la Diversidad in the Cuahutémoc area (Colonia Roma Norte) of Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.

Raoul D. Luna stars in his self-penned webseries "Still With It" (directed by Scott Korn). The webseries deals with the trials and tribulations of aspiring actor Julian Johns (played by Luna). A webisode was screened in June at LaGuardia Community College, located in the Queens neighborhood of Long Island City, as part of the Thomson Avenue Film Festival.
