HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Johary Ramos, Natasha Waisfield, Mónica Walter, Juan Carlos Díaz, and Douglas Taurel starred in the production Si Nos Dejan: If They Let Us. An ensemble-devised work inspired by the Clifford Odets play Waiting For Lefty, it was directed by Shana Solomon and presented in June by The Working Theater at the June Havoc Theatre in the Abingdon Theater Arts Complex located in Manhattan's Garment District. Some of the above HOLA members were cast after they received the e-mail announcements that HOLA sends to its members and self-submitted. (Shown above, clockwise from top left: Ramos, Waisfield, Walter, Díaz.) For more information, click here.

Alberto Bonilla, shown at right, was profiled in an interview with where he spoke of his upcoming production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth (where he serves a director and fight choreographer). Bones Rodríguez recently played The Ringmaster in the musical Yawheh's Follies. Written by Rob Reese, Matt Schloss and Eric Brenner and directed by Reese, the musical was presented in June at Ars Nova in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen area. For more information, click here.
