HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The webseries "Under Covers", produced, co-written, and starring Carlo Lorenzo García, shown at right, has been hitting the film festival circuit. Its next stop will be in October at the San José International Short Film Festival. For more information, click here or here.

Paul Mauriello acted in as yet-unnamed Yale University student film written and directed by Tim Enthoven.

Johanna Tolentino, shown at left, co-stars in the feature film Keep In Touch (written by Michael Angelo Covino and Sam Kretchmar and directed by Kretchmar). The film stars Reggie White, Jill Eikenberry, Donna Hanover, and Covino and has been hitting the film festival circuit, where it will screen next in September at the WilliFest in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. The film also won the Best Narrative Feature Award at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival in Sacramento, California. 

Raúl Rivera and Ángela Casas will co-star in Franco Galecio's Times Square Latino, el musical. Directed by Galecio, the production will take place at Queens Theater in October. For more information, click here.

Repertorio Español is taking its HOLA Award-winning production of Federico García Lorca's La zapatera prodigiosa to Ecuador. Directed by Andrés Zambrano, the play stars Gerardo Gudiño, 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Zulema Clares, Soraya Padrao, Noëlle Mauri, Mario Mattei, Jerry Soto, Pietro González and Edna Lee Figueroa and will perform in September at the Teatro Pumapungo in Cuenca, Ecuador as part of the Escenarios del Mundo/World Stages International Theater Festival.
