HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Juan Villarreal, shown at right, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written by 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera), as a result of having the IX Festival Internacional de Teatro CCN dedicated in his honor. The festival, presented by Casa de la Cultura Navarrete USA, Inc. will occur in August and September. The binational festival takes place in the Dominican Republic and the United States. The U.S. part of the festival will take place at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Raúl Rivera (also see above) is directing the TEBA production of José Adolfo Pichardo's play La otra cara de Nadís. It will be presented in September as part of the IX Festival Internacional de Teatro de la Casa Cultural Navarrete at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.

Johanna Tolentino booked a role in a Comedy Central promo.

Joel Pérez, shown at left, was interviewed for the Broadway Bullet podcast, where he spoke about his life and career, including his current gig on Broadway at the Circle in the Square Theatre playing Roy, Mark, Pete, Bobby, and Jeremy in the Jeanine Tesori-Lisa Kron Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home (directed by Sam Gold and based on the Alison Bechdel graphic novel of the same name).
