HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Rosie Berrido's debut film, Friendship, is the recipient of LOLA Honorable Mention Award, to be presented by the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival in June 2017. The short film, written and directed by Berrido, stars Teresa Yenque, Mateo Gómez, and Berrido (shown counterclockwise from top in the movie poster image at right), and is currently hitting the film festival circuit. 

Edmi De Jesús and Gerardo Gudiño, shown left to right, in the image at left, were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by Héctor Luis Rivera, also see below), as a result of their much touted collaboration as performer and director, respectively, in the Tere Martínez solo show Mi última noche con Rubén Blades, which was recently featured in The ONE Festival, which took place in April at Teatro Círculo, located in Manhattan's East Village. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja), shown at right, will be hosting the Couture Cuisine & More event, Presented by Bronx Fashion Week and Affinity health Plan, the fashion and networking event (featuring the work of Baqash Wilson, Avadora Mimouni, Sofia Davis, Michi Walden, Kevin Carlyle Smith, and Stefania David) will take place on Saturday afternoon, May 6, 2017 at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, located in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.
