HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Cristina Noya, shown at right, co-wrote and directed the short film Happy Birthday Mr. President. Adapted by Noya from the stage play of the same name written by José Luis Useche, the film is in post-production and is expected to hit the film festival circuit soon.

Elizardi Castro will be performing in El Show de "El Lucio". An evening of standup comedy/solo theater with a live band (Orquesta Afinke), the show is produced by Mike Oquendo (of Mike Oquendo Events) and will feature special guest Sara Contreras. The production will take place in November at the White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) in White Plains, New York. For more information, click here or here.

Joe Ortizshown at leftis co-starring in the short film Javi's Heist (written by Matthew Thomas Burda and Eric T. Ford and directed by Ford), the film is the third of the Javi series (the first two being Where's Javi? and Javi Can't Hide). Javi's Heist (produced by Hayride Films) has just completed principal photography in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. For more information, click here or here.

Mónica Delgado danced with the Colombian folk dance troupe Pajarillo Pinta'o (under the direction of 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Daniel Fetecua) and R.Evolución Latina at the Danza Heights Festival in September at Highbridge Park, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.
