HOLA Member Bochinche


Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Lorraine Rodríguez, Annie Henk, Anthony Ruiz and Raymond Piniella are starring in the feature film Eli Moran (written and directed by TJ Collins), currently shooting in New York.

2013 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera is currently shooting the film The Lotto Winner (written and directed by Mariluz Acosta) in New York.

Juan Chaves, shown at right, just wrapped up work on the short film Lobo: An Orisha Horror Tale (written and directed by Lina Sarrello and starring Sarrello, Gloria Zelaya and Paola Poucel). The film is expected to hit the film festival circuit. For more information, click here.

Marco Antonio Rodríguez's HOLA Award-winning play La Luz de un cigarillo (or in English, Ashes of Light)
has been selected to participate in the 30/30– a U.S. Latina/o theatre/NoPassport reading scheme (curated by Caridad Svich and Dominic D'Andrea) where 30 plays by 30 different Latina/o playwrights will be showcased in readings all over the nation. For more information, click here.

Brian Luna is presenting his self-penned solo show, 7th and Eleventh Dimensions (directed by Letia Clouston), at the United Solo Festival in October and November at the Theater Row Studio Theater at Theater Row in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. For more information, click here or here.
