HOLA Member Bochinche


Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2013 HOLA Awards recipient José Roldán, Jr., shown at right, will present his self-penned solo show Father Forgive Me For I Have Sinned (winner of a 2013 HOLA Award for Outstanding Solo Production) on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at The People's Improv Theater (The P.I.T.), located in the Rose Hill section of Manhattan. He was also cast in a workshop of the Ntozake Shangé's play A Photograph: Lovers-in-Motion (directed by Courtney Harge), produced by the Colloquy Collective and also scheduled to take place in October.

Truant Arts is presenting Chaos Under Construction, a series of five short plays, one of which is Yes, And! Written by Kristen Felicetti, it is directed by Omar Pérez and will run in September and October at Access Theater, located in the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan. booked a bilingual (English/Spanish) public service announcement regarding affordable housing.

Repertorio Español is presenting the New York premiere of Mario Diament's play Cita a ciegas (Blind Date). Directed by Jorge Alí Triana, the play will start performances in October at Repertorio's eponymous theater in the Rose Hill neighborhood of Manhattan and star Germán Jaramillo, Luis Carlos de La Lombana, 2013 HOLA Awards recipient Zulema Clares, Beatriz Córdoba and Hannia Guillén. Ron Sarcos will be performing the solo show Efectos personales (written by Griselda Gámbaro and directed by Ydaiber Orozco) on Thursday, October 17, 2013 and Jessica Florí will be performing the solo show El timbre (written by Bernardo Roitmann and directed by 2013 HOLA Award recipient Ernesto De Villa Bejjani) on Friday, October 18, 2013 at The Producers' Club Theater (located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan) as part of the III Festival de Monologando Ando, produced by Teatro FénixUSANY. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) is currently in New York City shooting the short film No More Mrs. Nice Guy (directed by Warren Lehrer). She follows this up with a role in Funny Bunny (directed by Alison Standefer), to shoot also in October in Philadelphia. Finally, also in October, she will be performing a concert of her poetry and music at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
