HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

José Roldán, Jr., shown at right, will follow up his upcoming performance of his award-winning, self-penned solo show Father Forgive Me For I Have Sinned (developed with and directed by Dante Albertie) on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Feinstein's/54 Below (located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan) with a role in Juan Ramírez, Jr.'s play Honor Among Thieves. Directed by Ramírez, the play will be presented as part of the Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) at the Cherry Lane Theater, located in Manhattan's West Village. In addition to her starring role in the Txemi Parra play La terapia (in which she stars with Jerry Soto and Edmi De Jesús in the Teatro SEA/Micro Teatro New York production directed by Gerardo Gudiño), she is co-starring in the PopUP Theatrics production of Inside. Described as "an immersive theatrical experience", the production is written by Troy Deutsch, Peca Stefan, Zhu Yi (based on a concept by Ana Margineanu and Tamilla Woodard) and directed by Woodard, Margineanu, and France-Elena Damian (with assistant direction by Camilla Pérez). The production is scheduled to take place in March at the Campus of The Cathedral Church of Saint John The Divine, located in the West Harlem/Manhattanville area of Manhattan. She will then follow both of these productions up with a co-starring role in Ed Cardona, Jr.'s Bamboo in Bushwick. Also directed by Ana Margineanu, the Working Theater production will take place in April and May in a tour of the five boroughs of New York City. For more information about La terapia, which will have its final performance at Teatro SEA (located in The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center, home to HOLA, in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood), in April, click here.
