HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Allison Strong, shown at right, can soon be seen on stage in the musical Volleygirls. Written by Rob Ackerman (libretto), Eli Bolin (music) and Sam Forman (lyrics) and directed by Neil Patrick Stewart, with choreography by Ryan Kazprzak and music direction by Matt Pettry, the production will be playing in July as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, located on famed 42nd Street in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. Gloria Zelaya and Paola Poucel acted in the short film Lobo (written and directed by Lina Sarrello), which has just wrapped production.

Laura Riveros and Celeste Muñiz will be performing in Ibrahim El-Husseini's Comedy of Sorrows. The play, a response to the 2013 unrest in Egypt that ousted President Hosni Mubarak from power, will be produced by Hybrid Theatre Works and presented in August at HERE Arts Center in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. David Vega, Marisol Carrere and Iván L. Argudo were profiled in Impacto Latin News, the former for his recent film work and the latter two for their recent performances of the José Martínez Queirolo play Q.E.P.D. Rafael Fuentes booked principal roles in commercial spots for ESPN and Optimum. He is also acting in the musical The Adventures of Super Bunny, where he plays the titular character. Written by Michael MacKenzie Wills and Alastair William King, the production is part of the 2013 Midtown International Festival (MITF) and will had a July run at the MainStage Theatre of the WorkShop Theatre Company located in the garment district of midtown Manhattan.
