HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Judy Torres, shown at right, will be one of the performers in Raise Your Voice II: A Benefit Concert for Orlando. The concert is a night of cabaret and Broadway performers singing to raise money for the victims & families of the massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. All proceeds will go to OneOrlando Fund. the concert will take place on Monday, July 11, 2016 at The Copacabana, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. A.B. Lugo hosted the Delish Purple Tribute concert, an event highlighting the music of Prince and featuring the Delilah Tollinchi and her band Delilah. The event took place in July at Camaradas El Barrio Bar and Restaurant, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood.


Pablo García Gámez will be presenting a playwriting workshop titled "La dramaturgia del Acuyá". Presented by El Ministerio del Poder Popular de la Cultura through the Fundación Museos Nacionales, it will take place in July at the Galeria de Arte Nacional in Caracas, Distrito Capital, Venezuela. In addition, as part of the event, there will be a staged reading of his play Olvidadas presented (directed by Elio Paliencia). The award-winning feature film Medardo (written by Julio Ortega and directed by Nitsy Grau) has been invited to participate in the second edition of MICSUR, to be held in Bogotá, Distrito Capital, Colombia from October 17-20, 2016. MICSUR (or the Mercado de Industrias Culturales del SUR) aims to create and consolidate a platform for knowledge dissemination, promotion, distribution and marketing of goods and services generated by the cultural and creative industries in the region.
