HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Pablo Andrade, shown above, was the subject of a profile in the Venezuelan edition of ¡HOLA! magazine (no relation to HOLA), where his career in New York (and recent double HOLA Award win) was discussed in detail.

Milly Cotto was cast in the short film Buried Dreams (written and directed by Pepper Negrón), which is currently in pre-production.

Inma Heredia, shown at right, was featured in Broadway World, where it highlighted her upcoming performance of an excerpt of her self-penned solo show Divas de España (directed by Adolfo Vázquez) as part of an evening produced by the BALAM Dance Theatre titled Women of Wonder. The Women's History Month event, will take place on Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2015 at the Fort Lee Public Library in Fort Lee, New Jersey. For more information, click here.

Rafael Beato booked a lead role in the film Reason (written and directed by Daniel Rehder), which will film in March in New York City and Peru.

Andrea Navedo, shown at left, in character, besides her starring role as Xiomara on the hit, critically acclaimed award-winning CW series "Jane The Virgin", will soon be seen on the big screen in Superfast!, a Fast and Furious spoof from the writing-directing team of Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg, where she will play Michelle (based on the Michelle Rodríguez character from the film franchise). The film will open in limited release in U.S. movie theaters on Friday, April 3, 2015. For more information, click here, here and here.

Jennica Carmona's film Millie and the Lords was featured in the Viva New York section of the New York Daily News, shown at right. The film, written and directed by Carmona (and co-produced by Joel Arandia), stars Jessica Carmona; Alex Hernández; Cedric Leiba, Jr., Maria Domenico, Mateo Gómez, Millie Tirelli, Alfredo Romeo Suárez and Alfredo Huereca. Ayanery Reyes, shown at left, will star as the title character in the West Coast premiere of Carmen Rivera's La Gringa. Directed by Ron Celona, the production will be presented in March by and at Coachella Valley Repertory, located in Rancho Mirage, California.

Caridad de la Luz (known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will be speaking and performing some of her spoken word performance poetry on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at CultureFest, presented by the Standing Committee of Multicultural Affairs (SCMA) of the American College Professionals Association (ACPA). The event will take place at Ballroom A of the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. For more information, click here.
