HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

María Cotto, shown at right, was profiled in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog, where she was interviewed about her career and her latest project, a self-penned solo show titled El billetero (which she recently performed in New York and which she plans to bring to Cuba for the VIII Festival Callejero, located in Matanzas). To read the interview (which is in Spanish), click here.

Eduardo Leáñez performed his self-penned solo show Margarita, Rubén y Juan (directed by Yolanny Rodríguez) in March at La Marqueta (located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood) as part of its series of performance events, La Marqueta Retoña

Susan Rybin and Vivian Deangelo will star in the Walter Ventosilla play El idiota mandatorio. Directed by Jorge B. Merced, the play will take place in February and March in IATI Theater, located in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.

Edison Carrera and Raúl Rivera star in the play Te lo coloco, cobro y me voy (o, El daño que hacen los celos). Written by George Carlo (and adapted by Elías Balladares), it is directed by Cecill Villar and will perform in March at the Centro Comunitario Parroquia San José de Palisades in West New York, New Jersey.

Jay Santiago will star in the play Sacred Spaces. Produced by Cuentos de Ada Productions and Damaris Rivera, the play is written and directed by Ura Yoana Sánchez and will perform in April at the Elohim Christian Church in the Richmond Hill section of Queens.

If you are an HOLA member or a Friend of HOLA and want to submit a bochinche item, send us an e-mail. If you live in the New York metropolitan area and want to be an HOLA member, why not join? If you live outside the New York metropolitan area and want to be an HOLA member, you can find out more information on how to do so by clicking here. If you are not a Friend of HOLA, why not become one?
