HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Marisol Carrere, shown at right, was selected as "New Yorker of the Week" by the television station New York 1 News (NY1). She earned the honor due to her involvement in the award-winning short film I Am Julia, a film she co-produced (with Gloria Zelaya), co-starred in and wrote. The film is directed by David Capurso and stars Leidi Salazar, Carolina Ravassa, Carrere, Doua Moua, Tationna Bousier, Brenda Gómez, Zahaira Curiel and Tamara Turner. Writer-director Hugo Fernández is working on two television projects. The first is "Exorcista", starring Cynthia Bastidas, Arisleyda Lombert and Ángel Premier Solís. The second is "House of Aragón", starring Jordi Naro. The actors (shown above, from left to right: Bastidas, Lombert, Solís; Naro) were cast through the HOLA online directory. Both projects will be produced by María Nieto and will finish filming this spring.

Carlos A. González will be hosting and doing standup comedy at the Comedy Night @ Niko's event. The event will also feature comedians Sergio Chicón, Vladimir Caamano and headliner Mark Viera and will take place on March 1, 2013 at Niko's, located in White Plains, New York.

Alberto Bonilla is starring in the Secret Theatre production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Directed by Richard Mazda, the production will run in February and March in The Secret's eponymous theater, located in the Long Island City area of Queens. For more information, click here.
