HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Ismael Cruz Córdova, shown at right, booked a video and social media campaign with Ford Motor Company titled "Espacio para tus sueños" ["A Space for Your Dreams"] through an HOLA referral. The video (which gives a subtle nod to HOLA and the HOLA Awards) can be seen by clicking here

Fernando Gamarra
is currently filming a lead role in
The Devil's Advocate in York, Pennsylvania with director Heather Ferreira.

Rhina Valentín is now a
published author. Her work can be found (among the work of 45 other Latinas) in Breaking Ground: Anthology of Puerto Rican Women Writers in New York 1980-2012/Abriendo caminos: antología de escritoras puertorriqueñas en Nueva York 1980-2012. Edited by Dr. Myrna Nieves, the anthology is published by Boricua College and Editorial Campana and is available for purchase by clicking here. For more information about the anthology click here (in English) or here (en español).

Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) performed in Paseo, an 11-block audience procession paying tribute to the musical legacy of the South Bronx. The event also featured Ángel Rodríguez y Sus Rumberos, Danza Fiesta, Trío Los Platinos, Mary Hines and Bobby Sanábria & Ascension. The starting point of the procession was in the South Bronx's own Casita María. The event took place on Saturday, October 6, 2012 and was choreographed by Joanna Haigood with musical direction by Sanábria. For more information, click here.

A.B. Lugo (see also below) booked the roles of the Narrator and Puck in a production of Two Noble Midsummer Nightsmen. A mashup of the plays The Two Noble Kinsmen (written by John Fletcher and William Shakespeare) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (written by Shakespeare), the adaptation is by Amanda LaPergola and directed by Haydn Díaz and also features Gyda Arber, Emily Dalton, Lisa Fernández, Linus Gelber, Cedric Jones, LaPergola, Juan C.
