HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.



The nominees for the 2012 NCLR (National Council of La Raza) ALMA Awards were announced this past weekend at the NCLR conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. Among the nominees are David Zayas (nominated for Favorite TV Actor-Supporting Role for his role on Showtime's "Dexter"), Lauren Vélez (nominated for Favorite TV Actress-Supporting Role for her role on Showtime's "Dexter") and Sara Ramírez (nominated for Favorite TV Actress-Supporting Role for his role on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy"). Winners of the NCLR ALMA Awards will be determined by evaluating online votes cast as well as box office, Nielsen and Billboard rankings, and in consultation with the NCLR ALMA Awards Production Leadership Team. Liza Colón-Zayas, Tony Plana and Raúl Esparza are among the acting company selected for the eight projects being developed at the 2012 Theatre Lab of the Sundance Institute, taking place July 9-29 at the Sundance Resort in Park City, Utah. José Roldán, Jr. will perform his self-penned solo show Father Forgive Me For I Have Sinned (directed by Dante Albertie) on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at The People's Improv Theater (The PIT) in the Rose Hill section of Manhattan. For more information, click here.


Yolanny Rodríguez and Teatro Las Tablas are presenting the children's play La soberbia culebra. Written and directed by Walter Ventosilla, the play will perform in August  as part of the 6th Festival Internacional de Teatro at the Casa Cultural Navarette USA, located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. The production includes live music by Carlos David Bernales and Karina Blanco-Villa, Sully Bonnelly, Emely Grisanty and Emilia Matamoros in the cast. For more information, click here.

Alfredo Huereca booked a lead role in the short film Guerrero (produced by Eurica Media and directed by Jérémie Laurent).
