HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.


Mauricio Pita will be in the cast of Noel Road 25: A Genius Like Us. Written by Carlos Be, the two-hander (also starring Josué Gutiérrez) will be directed by Freddy Mancilla and be presented in August at Repertorio Español (located in the Manhattan's Rose Hill neighborhood). Salvatore Rodríguez most reccently acted opposite Andrea Leigh in the Columbia University graduate short film A Ten-Year Seal (directed by Sean Webley).

Mario Bósquez and Antonio Miniño will be acting in Confessions of a Cuban Sex Addict. Written and directed by Michelangelo Alasá, the show also stars Hannia Guillén, Cat Lippencott, Cristina Madero and Facundo Rodríguez and will be performed in August at the Duo Multicultural Arts Center in Manhattan's East Village. IATI Theater is presenting its Performing Arts Marathon 2012 (PAM 2012). The festival of national and international shows will run from July 26-August 12, 2012 at two Manhattan locations (Baruch Performing Arts Center in the Gramercy Park area and the IRT Theater in the West Village, respectively). The shows in the PAM 2012 featuring HOLA members are listed below.

Gerardo Gudiño is directing Decime que escuchás (Face the Music). Written by Sol Pereyra, the two-hander comedy features Yaremis Félix and Eva Cristina Vásquez and will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center at the end of July. For more information, click here.

Loren Escandón is performing her self-penned solos show Montera. Directed by Marisol Rozo (and assistant directed by Basil Rojas), the show will take place in July and August at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. For more information, click here.

Patricia Becker will be seen opposite Pablo Pereyra in Luz de mañana en un traje marrón (Dawn in a Brown Suit). Written by Daniel Veronese and directed by Leni Méndez, the show will take place in August at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. For more information, click here.

Dixon Place is presenting its 21st annual HOT! Festival, the NYC celebration of queer culture. The festival takes place July 1-30, 2012 at Dixon Place's eponymous theater located in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Raoul Daniel Luna will perform his self-penned solo show My Last, Best Spouse. Directed by A.B. Lugo, the performance will happen on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. For more information, click here.

Alfredo Tauste will perform his self-penned solo show Shaman: A Real Panic Therapy. Co-directed by Sebastián Buczyk, Julián Mesri, Pep Muñoz and Jaime Puerta (with lighting and sound design by Alfonso Rey), the show will be presented with Michael Cross Burke's Unilepsy on Saturday, July 28, 2012.
