HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Marlene Forté, shown at right, was featured in an article on the Design & Trend blog, where her recent recurring role of Celia Flores on "Fear The Walking Dead" (AMC) was highlighted. To read the blog, click here.

Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will perform as a guest artist on "Sin palabras", the new symphonic work by composer-arranger Desmar Guevara. The piece will premiere as part of the Multicultural Music Encounters series, the latest edition of which is called "Caribbean Diaspora in the South Bronx". The event will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Lovinger Theater, located within the Herbert H. Lehman College/City University of New York in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx. Iliana Guibert, shown in character, second from right, holding co-star Justin Luca in the photo at left, is starring in the film Twice Upon A Time. Written by Guibert (who also executive produced) and directed by Paul Borghese, the short film, inspired by true events, is an official selection of the Hoboken International Film Festival in Middletown, New York and will be screened on Monday, June 6, 2016. Suni Reyes and Roberto D'Jesús are co-starring in the NYC school tour of Chain Reaction. Written and directed by Tere Martínez, the piece deals with the life of the late Puerto Rican educator Antonia Pantoja (who is played by Reyes).
Fabián Zarta, shown at right, was highlighted in Theatermania as a result of his participation as an actor and co-creator of the collaborative theater piece Troy. The piece, created with playwright Andrea Thome, is inspired by Euripides' The Trojan Women. The debut production by Public Works ACTivate Ensemble, and will be produced by and presented in June at The Public Theater (in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood).
