HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

José Roldán, Jr., shown at right, and his award-winning, self-penned solo show, Father Forgive Me For I Have Sinned (created by Roldán and Dante Albertie, directed by Rosie Berrido), were featured in NewYork.com as one of the ten best things to do in New York City this week. Ángelo Mercado, Jr. booked a print, internet and television campaign for SlimFast. He also booked a print job for NYC tourism which will soon hit city buses.

José Sepúlveda co-starred in the feature film Wig'd Out. Written by Claire Wilcher and Kate Chaplin, from a story by Sandy Rusk and Olivia Rusk, the film is directed by Chaplin and about to hit the film festival circuit with a premiere scheduled for April.

Aamira Martínez appeared in a viral video created and directed by Julie Asriyan where she and several actresses read and react to real casting notices that are demeaning to women.
The video is part of Casting Call - The Project, a venture from artists Asriyan, Laura Bray and Jenna Ciralli that addresses the frustratingly sexist way women's roles are often advertised in casting calls. The video has been publicized in Broadway World, The Huffington Post, Nylon magazine, APlus, and New York Magazine.
