HOLA Member Bochinche


Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja), shown at right, will be sharing the bill with Boca Floja and Reyes at a special event of poetry, hip hop and comedy titled Culture Creators, which will perform on November 20 and 21, 2013 at the Social Lite Lounge in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Raquel Almazán's feature film White Alligator, will be screening on November 15 and 16, 2013 at the I

Jennica Carmona's film Millie and the Lords is currently filming in New York City. The film, written and directed by Carmona (and co-produced by Joel Arandia), stars
Jessica Carmona; Alex Hernández; Cedric Leiba, Jr., Maria Domenico, Mateo Gómez, Millie Tirelli and Alfredo Huereca. For more information, click here.

Around the Block/Al Doblar La Esquina is presenting a series of six short plays with the common theme of the economy. Entitled Recovery Blip or Double Dip?, the plays are written by Edgar Chisholm, Nina Howe, Carlos Jerome, William Marley, Marcia Slatkin and Allan Yashin, respectively, and are directed by Alliston Astor-Vargas, Sam Gordon and Andreas Robertz. The production will take place in November and December at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre at the Abingdon Theater Complex, located in the fashion district of midtown Manhattan. The production features Vincent Bagnall, Elizabeth Bove, Phillip Filiato, Patt Franklin, Halli Herzog, Joe Albert Lima, A.B. Lugo, Nikaury Rodríguez and Andrew Vargas Stehney. Nanda Abella was cast in a French-language industrial for Mini Cooper.
