HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Julián Juaquín, shown at left, booked a short film (produced by UNARAZA Productionz [sic] and CoreTempArts) after he saw the casting notice in the daily e-mail announcements that HOLA sends to its members and self-submitting.

Nanda Abella will be in the film Whispers in the Dark. Presented by Jeff Wirth,
the film is an immersive fiction experience that plays out over 24 hours in settings throughout New York City. The experience culminates at the Film Society of Lincoln Center as part of the 50th annual New York Film Festival (NYFF), where highlights from the adventure will be screened on September 30, 2012 during a live presentation. Titled Divorcification, it is adapted and directed by Gary Ferrar and produced by the Hyper Aware Theater Company. Rodríguez spoke about his HOLA Award-winning play La luz de un cigarrillo, which was recently revived (with the original cast of Susanna Guzmán, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Arisleyda Lombert and Teresa Yenque) and is scheduled for another run in October at York College in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens. The show's recent revival was the subject of a feature article in Latin Trends magazine (click on the photo at right to read the article).
